Sarah Palin's religion and the books she didn't try to ban

Dear reader, our blog has moved to a new address.

Do come on over (and change your bookmarks accordingly): rationalist.org.uk

We've all heard she's an evangelical, anti-abortion, pro-gun creationist, but for anyone out there looking to get to the bottom of what Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin actually believes, you may be interested in this piece from Talk to Action, a US website "for reporting on, learning about, and analysing and discussing the religious right – and what to do about it."

One of the big Palin stories we've been dying to learn more about is the rumour that, as mayor of Wasilla, she floated the idea of removing certain unsuitable books from the local library. Unfortunately, as this piece from Talk to Action points out, it looks like we'll never get to know exactly which titles offended the self styled "pitbull in lipstick". Someone has compiled a list, which at first glance seems credible, but word on the web is it's quite simply made up.
